RIEL CEO Rostyslav Melnyk took part in the Ukrainian Investment Congress 2025

August 01, 2025

The main investment event of the year in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Investment Congress 2025, took place at the Parkovy Exhibition and Convention Centre in Kyiv. The event became the main platform for discussing investment opportunities in Ukraine and strategies for the development of the real estate and industrial markets in the face of today’s challenges.

This national development discussion brought together over 5,000 representatives of business, government, investors, architects, developers and companies shaping the future of the country.

‘The state of the country’s construction market undoubtedly influences on its overall economic development. And I am confident that all market participants, businesses, together with government authorities, experts and international investors, should unite to find effective solutions and create new opportunities for development, and develop new strategies for attracting investment, which are necessary for our housing market,’ said Rostyslav Melnyk, partner and speaker at the event, RIEL CEO.

A strategic dialogue on the development market and new investment horizons took place in the format of 20 panel discussions.

In particular, experts discussed financing new infrastructure, the land market, urbanisation, housing and innovative development models — the main challenges and opportunities for developers in the context of large-scale reconstruction, forecasts for the development of the Ukrainian investment market for the period 2025-2029, and more.

During his participation in a panel discussion on investment in development, RIEL CEO Rostyslav Melnyk noted:

‘It is obvious that economy-class housing will be in greatest demand after the end of the war. Therefore, prices for this type of real estate will rise sharply.’

At the same time, however, in his opinion, commercial real estate is in high demand in modern residential areas, because ‘people are increasingly reluctant to leave their own living space.’

‘Things like emergency power supplies and bomb shelters are now a must-have in new buildings. But if you compare what was important in construction ten years ago and today, they are completely different things. For example, it used to be important for a property to be built close to the metro. Today, it is important for people to be able to access quality services within 10 minutes of their home, such as supermarkets, schools, kindergartens, cafes, etc.,’ explained the RIEL CEO.

Among the three main services required by residents of large residential areas in modern cities, Rostyslav Melnyk highlighted the following:

‘Firstly, these are services related to food, even with the possibility of having breakfast delivered to your home if requested. Secondly, it is the opportunity to work without leaving the complex, i.e. online, or to have space for meetings, conferences, consultations, etc. And thirdly, the availability of high-quality sports infrastructure within the complex.’

Inna Fomenko, Sales Manager at RIEL, also spoke on behalf of the developer in a panel discussion on investment and geopolitics, presenting new approaches to development to participants and guests using examples from the company’s projects.

In particular, she focused on the principles of happy urban planning, which the developer is implementing in its new approach to comfort class – Riel Family Style, which provides developed infrastructure, a pleasant neighbourhood and high-quality space for work and leisure, taking into account the needs of modern families.

‘We standardise the important components of a comfortable life — from recreation areas to infrastructure for children and parents. One of these components is access to water: rivers, lakes or even a decorative fountain in the courtyard. This is just one of many elements of a comprehensive approach that will become mandatory for new projects in this format,’ the manager explained during her speech.

The first examples of the Riel Family Style concept will be the Brother and Sister Residential Complexes on the left bank of Kyiv, as well as the Father in Lviv. All of them are designed as spaces for families: with shared leisure areas, children’s infrastructure and modern technological solutions.

The Sister Residential Complex offers everything for different moods — cosy courtyards for children’s adventures, terraces for work and playgrounds for meetings and activities, while the Brother community values family moments both at home and outside:

‘The Sister is a place where the day combines business meetings, yoga in the garden and family dinners under the rustling trees,’ said Inna Fomenko. ‘The Brother is a neighbourhood where everyday activities turn into shared adventures with neighbours. And the spaces for sports and recreation create an environment for an active lifestyle every day.’

‘The Father residential complex is a place where the walls protect your peace and comfort,’ explained the manager.

As Inna Fomenko noted during her speech, the developer is promoting other flagship projects. In particular, she spoke about the Big Ben, a gallery-style residential complex inspired by Scandinavian architecture; the Hyde Park, a premium club house with the first 25-metre swimming pool in Lviv; and the Harry, a modern complex that combines the renovation of historic façades with a new architectural vision.

RIEL also organised its own stand at the event, where all six new projects that the developer is implementing in Kyiv and Lviv were presented.
